Many RROS members have been actively involved over the years with the Sonoma County Breeding Bird Atlas, which is sponsored by Madrone Audubon Society. Via these Madrone links below, discover a wealth of information about which birds breed in Sonoma County, where they breed, and by inference which habitats they utilize.

2021 Update to the 2000 and 2010 Publications
Bird observation updates to the Birds of Sonoma County California published in 2012. This current publication, compiled by Benjamin D. Parmeter and Alan N. Wight, includes observations between 9/1/10 and 12/10/21 that meet any one of the following:
1) First county record (and subsequent records).
2) On California Bird Records Committee (CBRC) review list and approved by CBRC.
3) Only a single record during the period covered. In some cases, species with more than a single record were included.
4) Of other significant interest.
