The November RROS meeting will feature Gene Hunn, ethno-ornithologist and Professor Emeritus, University of Washington in Seattle. His work has combined birding with cognitive, linguistic, and environmental anthropology. Gene will draw from his many years of field work in Mexico, Columbia, and Alaska Indian communities. As an ethno-ecologist, his work has recognized the link between ensuring survival of indigenous languages and cultures connected to traditional lands with protection of global biodiversity in the avian world.
